SpirPep: A web-based database for bioactive peptide discovery

For the bioactive peptide discovery is the long process and spend the cost in the process of protease selection, peptide production from protein hydrolysis, fermentation or proteolytic systems of Lactic Acid Bacteria (LAB), peptide purification, peptide identification and in vivo or in vitro test for bioactivity discovery.

The computational method is the alternative choice for reduce the cost and time in protease selection and peptide production. SpirPep Tool predict putative bioactive peptides by In silico restriction digestion, all coding proteins with 15 restriction enzymes and comparing them with bioactive peptides published in the Bioactive Peptide Databases in one time.
